Privacy Policy for GCal Focus Mode
Simple Promise: GCal Focus Mode doesn't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. Everything stays in your browser.
What Data We DON'T Collect
- Calendar Events: We never read, access, or store your calendar events or appointments
- Personal Information: No names, emails, or personal details
- Usage Analytics: No tracking of how you use the extension
- Browsing History: We only work on calendar.google.com
- External Data: Nothing is sent to our servers or third parties
What Data We DO Store (Locally Only)
- Focus State: Whether focus mode is currently ON or OFF
- Calendar Visibility: Which calendars were visible before you enabled focus mode (so we can restore them)
Important: This data is stored ONLY in your browser using Chrome's local storage. It never leaves your device.
Permissions Explained
- "storage": To remember your focus mode preference between browser sessions
- "https://calendar.google.com/*": To interact with Google Calendar's interface (hide/show calendars)
Third-Party Services
GCal Focus Mode does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted, your information remains completely secure and private. You can clear this data at any time by:
- Going to chrome://extensions/
- Finding GCal Focus Mode
- Clicking "Remove" to uninstall (clears all stored data)
Changes to Privacy Policy
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the extension and notify users through the Chrome Web Store update process. The current version will always be available at this URL.
Google Calendar Integration
GCal Focus Mode works by reading the publicly visible elements in Google Calendar's user interface (the calendar names and checkboxes in the sidebar). We do not access Google's Calendar API or any private calendar data.
